A visit from the author Gerry Boland
Today the author Gerry Boland came to our school to talk to us about his poems and stories. When he first came in he introduced himself and read us a few pages of one of his books called Marco Moves In. It was a very well written book. He then read two of his poems to us. Next we got to write our own poems using one of his poems to guide us. After that some people read out the poems they wrote. Finally we got to write any kind of poem we wanted with a bit of help from Gerry. Over all we had a great experience and learned a few tips on writing poems and stories.
Shoe box appeal
Over a couple of days our school has collected a number of boxes for the shoe box appeal collection. We have gathered up things that we may not use anymore and have given them to the less fortunate. Most children have donated their unused belongings and gave €2 aswell.
Hail Glorious St Brigid's
The new county champions visited our school and we got to hold the cup and ask the players questions about the game. Congratulations to all the players and management and good luck on Sunday from all the children at Brideswell N.S.
